Jo-Ann Myrtle Jankola

JO-ANN MYRTLE JANKOLA (age 93) of Berea, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 28, 2025 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved sister of Constance Tesar (deceased) (James, deceased) and Helen Monachino (William, Jr., deceased). She was also the dear aunt of Michelle Barrentine (Robert, deceased), Kathleen Tesar, Judy Tesar, John Tesar (Jamie), Beth Monachino, Carol Gorski (Richard), William Monachino, III, and Mary Carroccio (James). She is also survived by thirteen great nieces and nephews and seven great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Coleman and Marion (Hridel) Jankola.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Jo-Ann lived a life full of grace, generosity, and quiet strength. She was a living example, both in word and deed, to all who knew her. As a devout Catholic she lived her faith every day. Professionally, she broke through the glass ceiling and earned the title of Vice President in a time where women rarely achieved such titles or recognition for their accomplishments. She was a guiding light in our lives, known for her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love. Her experience and advice were relied upon by everyone who sought her guidance or support. Undoubtedly her greatest joys in life were her sisters, her many nieces and nephews, and their children and grandchildren. She welcomed them all with open arms and unconditional love. Her passing leaves all who loved her heartbroken, but her memory will live on in our hearts and in the stories we will share for years to come.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Sunday, May 4, 2025 from 3 PM- 7 PM at Kolodiy-Lazuta Funeral Home 5677 State Rd. Parma. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday May 5, 2025 at 11AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church 5891 Ridge Rd. Parma, (Please meet at Church). Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
