Lubomyra Lobur (née Vavriv) of Seven Hills, OH, passed away on Friday, July 11, 2025, at her home, surrounded by loved ones. She was 84 years old.
Lubomyra was a devoted wife to the late Wiroslav Lobur, a loving mother and grandmother, a caring sister and aunt, and a cherished friend to many both in the United States and Ukraine.
She is survived by her beloved daughters, Myroslava Downey (Ray) and their daughter Maria, and Christina Tymosch (Michael) and their daughters Olenka and Melania. She is also survived by her beloved sister Yaroslava Lesiv (Yosyf) from Lviv, along with their sons Andriy and Yurij, and grandchildren Anna-Sofia, Mark and Ustym.
Born in Lviv, Ukraine, Lubomyra graduated from Lviv Medical University and worked as a pharmacist at the Lviv Infectious Diseases Communal Clinical Hospital. In 1979, she emigrated to the United States with her husband and two daughters to reunite with her husband’s family, beginning a new chapter of life in Cleveland.
In her new home, Lubomyra devoted herself to supporting her family as they established their lives in a new country. She later became a valued employee at Cleveland Selfreliance Federal Credit Union where she worked until her retirement. Lubomyra was deeply committed to her husband’s initiatives, as well as to her church and community.
Her love was unconditional, her smile unforgettable, and her heart boundless.
She will forever remain in our hearts.
Family and Friends are invited to Funeral Services on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 with visitation from 10:00am to 11:00am with funeral services at 11:00am at St. Josaphat Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral, 5720 State Rd. Parma, Ohio 44134. Interment at St. Andrew Cemetery.
