Theodosij Hryciw

Народився 28 травня 1919 р. у Перемишлі. Проживав дитячі літа над рікою Сян у селі Вовче. Учень початкової школи ім М. Шашкевича і ґімназії в Перемишлі. Під час другої світової війни, працював у фірмі Siemens у Берліні. В 1949 р. захистив дипломну праці і отримав магістерку з фармакології на Українському Технічно-Господарському Інституті в Мюнхені. У 1950 р. емігрував до Сполучених Штатів і оселився у Нью Йорку, де приступив до хору Думки. В 1956 р. одружився з Лукією Стойкевич і переселився до Філадельфії де влаштував підприємство Globe Parcel Service.

Покійний був громадським діячем, працюючи в Пласт-Прияті при станиці Філадельфія, патріаршому русі, і був на дирекції Українського Освіньо-Культурного Центру у Дженкінтаун, Пенсилванїі. Був парафіян церкви Царя Христа у Філадельфії і Непорочного Зачаття в Елкінс Парк, Пенсильванії, а від 1996, церкви святого Андрія в Парма, Огайо. Від 2018 р. жив в Ан Арбор, Мічіган.

Born on May 28, 1919 in Peremyshl’, West Ukrainian People’s Republic, today’s Przemyśl in Poland. He spent his youth on the river San, in the village of Vovche. He studied at the M. Shashkevich elementary school and high school in Peremyshl’. During World War II, he worked at the Siemens company in Berlin. In 1949 he obtained a Masters Degree in Pharmacology at the Ukrainian Technical Husbandry Institute of Munich. In 1950, Theodosij met his future wife, Lucia, in transit over the Atlantic Ocean to the United States and settled in New York, where he spent much of his time singing with the famous Dumka Choir. In 1956, he married Lucia Stojkewycz and moved to Philadelphia, where he opened his retail and shipping business, Globe Parcel Service.

Theodosij was a Ukrainian patriot, volunteering many of his years to Plast-pryat (auxiliary branch of the Ukrainian Scouting Organization in Philadelphia); serving on the Board of Directors of the Ukrainian Educational and Cultural Center in Jenkintown, PA; and the movement to establish Patriarchal status for the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. He was a parishioner of Christ the King Church in Philadelphia, the Immaculate Conception Church in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania, and since 1996, St. Andrew's Church in Parma, Ohio. As of 2018, he lived in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Surviving Theodosij are:

Wife of 66 years, Lucia.

⁃ Roman and wife Olena along with grandsons Dmytri and Demyan with his wife Claire and great-granddaughter Maya.

⁃ Yarema with his wife Romana and granddaughter Yustina and grandson Oleksa.

Grandson Lukash, son of the late Oresta Hryciw-Kowcz and the late Taras Kowcz.

⁃ Daria with her husband Danylo Butenko and children Larysa and Mykola.

⁃ Tamara Hankewycz

⁃ Ksenia with her husband Matthew Rakowsky and children Emilia and Adam

⁃ Andrey with his wife Zoryana and children Marko, Mykhaylo, Maximilian, and Matey

⁃ Tymish with his wife Myrosia and children Terenia, Zachar, Orest, and Nina

⁃ Taras with his wife Adrianna and son Dennis.
